Join us in Person or through Zoom!
Artificial intelligence is quickly becoming part of everyday life for educators and students alike. This hands-on workshop supports both computer science and non-CS teachers in building confidence with AI while strengthening AI literacy through practical classroom connections, ethical reflection, and active exploration.
Participants will begin by examining their own values and beliefs about AI and how those values shape classroom decisions. The session will explore what it means to have “AI in your backpack,” highlighting everyday AI tools that can support planning, teaching, and learning. Teachers will engage in AI data journey mapping to better understand how data is created, used, and impacted by AI systems, and how to make these ideas visible to students.
The workshop will also focus on AI-aware assignment design, helping educators rethink tasks so that students use AI thoughtfully while still demonstrating authentic learning. Participants will get started with Apple tools and Common Sense Media that support creativity, accessibility, and AI-enhanced workflows in the classroom. Finally, teachers will develop a personal AI integration roadmap to identify next steps for responsible, purposeful AI use in their own practice.
By the end of the session, participants will leave with practical strategies, classroom-ready examples, and a personalized plan for integrating AI in ways that align with their values, curriculum goals, and student needs.
For in person participants, breakfast and lunch will be provided! We do have some Apple devices on hand for In-person attendees. If you have an Apple device, please bring your own.
For Zoom Participants, sessions will be from 9 am to 1 pm. Try to have at least one apple device, such as a iPhone or iPad. It is helpful, but not necessary.
